I get up at 6:45am everyday for work, and work till 5:30. Starting in fall, that schedule will be extended with school from 6pm-9pm, daily. That makes for a 14 hour day. Ive never had to do this before. any advice?Any good advice for someone who's about to embark on a life of full-time work, and full-time college?
Don't try to do it all at once--you'll burn out and be no good for yourself or anyone else.Any good advice for someone who's about to embark on a life of full-time work, and full-time college?
Well, lots of people do stuff like this and they do survive. It won't be fun, but it won't last forever unless you are going in to med school, in which case, this will be your new normal. Just write up a schedule and STICK to it. Make sure you don't allow yourself to get distracted by friends or fun activities.
Guard your sleep time like it is gold, and don't eat crap. Try to use your breaks at work to walk briskly. Another big risk is getting FAT as you eat chips and drink soda to ';help you stay awake'; which is BAD and does not work so don't even think about it.
Take a couple of breaks on the weekend to refresh your brain. Plan your weekends to get the most of your study time, and if you need a special place to study, such as the library, just do it.
Don't do it - do at least one of them part time. I have only ever known of one person that did it and he said it murdered him. I did work full time and college part time. My degree took 5 years - not much more than usual - but it was manageable - I don't think both full time is.
Thanks
Bill
