Ok, my partner and I want to move to another state. Right now we are in MA , Boston, but because i am originally from a very hot country Boston weather is totally unacceptable to me. Boston is a nice city but always cold and rainy.
I just need some practical life advice... We want to buy a house and just settle down but not in Boston. We are considering NC, SC, DC, CA, MD. How wise is it to just save up some money and then move ?
Or is it better just move and see first how things will go there? Especially because if we move we have to find stable jobs etc...and we are considering to have a baby... I mean i just need clear advice because it is 100% that we are not going to live in Boston because of the weather... Thank you everyone.Life Advice needed, urgent...?

MD and DC are kinda one in the same as far as weather. the summers are HOT and the winters are COLD :S . The weather here is also spuradic. One day ( and I kid you not this happends ) can be 80 degrees and sunny and the next day can be 40 degrees and rain/sleet :S So probably NC or even Florida would be nice. And Yea Cali is kinda expensive to live in . And there .... i guess you would say economy is tanking. There unemployment rate is really high. I believe its like 10-15% :S
I would not buy a house til you have rented about a year to see if it's really the place for you. I would not move anywhere til you have at least 6 months of living expenses.
I live near Greenville, SC. Compared to much of the country, this is a less expensive place to live. This is in the upstate of SC off Interstate 85. About 45 minutes from mountains and 4 hours from the beach, about 1.5 hours south of Charlotte, NC
Very little in the way of snow. Snowed once this year which stayed on the ground less than 24 hours, but it can still be cold (lots of 30 and 40 degree days) if you think that is cold. In the summer it's in the 90s w/ high humidity. Columbia, SC, is much hotter. Charleston is hot also but not as hot as Columbia. Charleston is a beautiful place. Only drawback there is potential for hurricanes. Do not think about moving to Myrtle Beach.
Job market here is probably a little better than the rest of the state (12% unemployment statewide). We have companies like Michelin, BMW, Hubble Lighting, Bausch %26amp; Lomb. 2 hospitals (one is a teaching hospital) No major colleges but a couple of private one.
Gas is about $2.24 here right now. NC has higher gas taxes and is normally about 15 cents higher per gallon.

Not the gay-friendliest city in the world but not gay bashing either.
Hope this helps
Every state has its drawback and its good side.
California is GREAT in terms of weather thats up your alley. Unfortunately its also incredibly expensive (though housing prices have crashed out here)
Maryland and DC have very erratic weather ( I lived there for 20 years)- if you dont like the cold or rain, dont bother. DC is right due sw of Maryland, same weather- hot with often insufferably humid summers (with thunderstorms), Cold winters (10-40 degrees) with ice and snow.
If cold bothers you and you don't want to spend a buttload, Id suggest North Carolina or South Carolina.
