m seeking advice because i seem to be stuck in between a rock and a hard place, yet again. I am an 18 year old female, I'm very responsible, mature, and told by all that i am wise beyond my years. I currently have two jobs. I work extremely hard. I live with a friend and pay rent. In fact, I pay for EVERYTHING. She works as well but doesn't pay a dime. I'm desperately searching for apartments, living with her just is not working out. I also am looking for a car. I bought a car in February, but i let my mother borrow it and she was in an accident where the car was totaled. She can't afford to pay me back, so I'm stuck without a car. Speaking of my mother, i help pay her bills as well. Because I am 18 I have no credit, there for i do not have any credit at all. I've never had a credit card or anything. This makes it much harder to get a car or an apartment. Im not complaining in the least bit, i know there are others less fortunate then me. Just wondering if anyone has been through the same, or has advice. Thank you all!
I forgot a few details, I live in my friends already paid off home that she owns. I pay rent to her as well as utilities, all groceries, ect. My mom is pregnant with her 5th child. I'm the second oldest, therefore, she can't work. I also take care of my 3 brothers, and with school coming up am helping to buy them what they need. I feel like i'm in a never ending money trap.Life Advice Please!?
oh wow...you have a lot of responsibilites for a 18 year old! I'm older than you and I don't think I can handle what you're going through. Well, if your mom has many kids and can't work, isn't she eligble for like medicaid or like foodstamps or something...that would help a lot with some of the bills...and as for clothing and things like that for back to school..you can check out some thrift stores...they have very cheap stuff. You should start applying for credit cards now and start to build up your credit....that is very important throughout your life. But I think you can still get an apartment without credit...you can just provide employment verification. and just remember to stay positive and you'll get through this... :)Life Advice Please!?
Just a little too much story.
Where is the father of child #5?
Where is the oldest child?
When and how do you eat?
Where is your father and/or the fathers of your younger brothers.
To Much Story.
If your already helping your mother pay her bills why don't you move back in with her? You can also find cheap cars on craigslist, I suggest a toyota corolla or honda civic which are known for their reliability low gas mileage and long lasting qualities! It sounds to me like your stuck giving to much. I know these people are people you care about but theres got to be a line between family and friend responsibilities and keeping yourself sane!
STOP FEELING AS IF YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYONE! QUIT ONE JOB. YOU SAID YOU'RE THE SECOND OLDEST, I'M SURE THE OLDEST CAN HELP. DON'T LET PEOPLE PUSH YOU AROUND....
IF YOU ARE WISE BEYOND YOUR YEARS THAN MAYBE YOU LACK COMMON SENSE AND YOU CAN'T SEE PEOPLE ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOU...
(A LOT OF US LACK COMMON SENSE. EVERY NOW AND THEN I DO....)
